WriteNow is a feature-rich notebook application that gives you extensive control over your notes and lets you focus on writing in a distraction-free text editor, with a lot of built-in options (such as ready-to-use templates that are excellent for diary and journal entries or fast memos).

Organize your notes and writing into an unlimited number of intelligent notebooks. Every notebook can be customized with a distinct icon to personalize it and create it simple to recognize visually. You can also add your own tags and metadata to every note, which is a strong and simple method to create your notes even more detailed and informative. The search feature is customizable by title, content, and tags or metadata, so you can quickly find whatever you need across all your notes.

We believe in privacy: your notes and data belong to you. Only you have access to your notebooks, password, and backup code. You can export your notebooks and database, and share your notes to collaborate with others, but only you are responsible for how that happens. No data is collected, shared, or accessed by us, and even the free version has no ads.

Text editor: Efficient and focused
• Never lose your progress! Automatically save your writing whenever you close a note.
• Built-in templates: Use date, time, and formatting templates that are excellent for diaries, journals, and note-taking.
• Customize the editor with a quick-action bar, allowing you to update your note, add tags or metadata, insert templates, and share the note with someone else - all without having to navigate menus. The quick-action bar can be toggled at any time, and even set to follow your preferred state.
• Copy, share and export your note.
• Adjust the font size to suit your eyes.
• Multiple options for clearing a note's text and data: either just delete the main text, or clear the note's tags and metadata at the same time to start fresh.
• Move your notes, with all their metadata, from 1 notebook to another.

Password protection
• Lock and hide your notebooks with a password!
• You can lock your notebooks whenever you wish or set them to always lock by default for additional security.
• Your password is encrypted, and only you know what it is. We value your privacy and have no access to your password or data.
• As an additional security option, you can use your password to generate a backup code. This code can only be viewed once, so write it down somewhere safe outside the app. If you forget your password, you can use this backup code to unblock your notebooks and update your security options.

Easy navigation
• Your notebooks and notes are organized in a clean design for simple navigation.
• Search your notes and manage your tags and metadata quickly and easily.
• Sort your notebooks and notes alphabetically or by date.

Backup and export
• Export and import your whole database, so you can shop a backup wherever you like to hold your notebooks safe!
• There are multiple options to handle your notebooks and data, with confirmations to prevent you from accidentally deleting or overwriting something important.
• All your notebooks can be exported into 1 text file, or you can export your notes individually.
• When you export your notes, the notebook title, content, and tags and metadata are all clearly labeled.
